The Stockton Sportsmen's Club offers 2 scholarship programs. Please read the information below on The Annual Scholarship Award Competition and the Annual High School Scholarship Award Competition.

The Annual Scholarship Award Competition

The Stockton Sportsmen's Club is proud to announce its annual scholarship competition. This program was initiated to provide financial assistance for a post-graduate student majoring in any field related to North American wildlife or habitat management. Past awards have supported research ranging from river oaks to brown trout. The competition includes a total of $2,250.00 in grant awards.

Application Criteria

  1. United States citizenship.
  2. A post-graduate student at an accredited university in California.
  3. Declared major in any field related to North American wildlife or habitat management.
  4. A minimum 3.0 cumulative graduate school GPA.

Application Materials

  1. A one page cover letter detailing your qualifications, interests, and career goals. Please note your interest and participation in outdoor recreational or conservation activities.
  2. A summary - not to exceed 3 pages - of your prospectus or intended thesis research. This summary should be in layman's language as members of the evaluation committee represent a number of professions.
  3. A resume.
  4. Two faculty letters of recommendation.
  5. A copy of your current graduate school transcript.

Selection and Notification

Successful applicants will be notified after the selection, expected by July 31st, 2023.

 Annual High School Scholarship Award Competition

The Stockton Sportsmen's Club is pleased to announce their annual scholarship award.  This program is offered to provide financial assistance to a graduating high school senior with a career goal in agriculture or agriculture related major.  Up to $1,500.00 in scholarships will be awarded. 

Criteria for this award are as follows:

  1. Graduating Senior who will attend an institute of higher education (2 or 4 Year College or University or Vocational Institution).
  2. Career intentions in any agriculture related major.
  3. FFA Advisor’s recommendation.
  4. One or more nominees will be considered from each school.
  5. Deadline for nominations is May 31, 2023.

The Stockton Sportsmen’s Club requires from each nominee a two page, typed letter stating future goals and what benefit this award will provide to help attain these goals, plus a listing of school and extracurricular activities in which the applicant participates, and a Letter of Recommendation from the school’s FFA Advisor.

Application Procedure

Please send the application with the required information by May 31, 2023.  Successful applicants will be notified by July 31, 2023.
