The Stockton Sportsmen's Club, in cooperation with local land owners, has operated its pheasant hunting program since 1950.
Approximately 3700 hunters use the fields each year.
8 week old pheasant chicks (roosters and hens) are raised by club members and released into the fields on Plant days when they are adults.
2023 Season is Saturday, November 4th thru Saturday, December 16th, 2023
Hunt Days - Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thanksgiving day
Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, Thanksgiving – sign-up starts at 0630, shoot time 0800.
$45.00* per day – 2 bird daily limit effective 12/10
*Must purchase $10 season long insurance card and $5 refundable field arm tag each hunt day for ANYONE in the Field. (Adult Hunters, Jr. Hunters, Walkers)
First come, first served. Fields may fill up.
Private hunts on closed days only. Must be booked in advance.

- Public Hunter = any adult with a current California Hunting License and Upland Game Stamp.
- Junior Hunter = A Junior Licensed Hunter hunts free* with a parent or legal guardian. Junior hunters must have a California Junior Hunting license. No more than two Junior hunters per adult.
- Walker = anyone not hunting (NO GUN CONTACT) but would like to be in the field to watch. $10 annual insurance card fee and $5 refundable deposit for an arm band.
* Free hunts require the purchase of field band and annual insurance permit.

The fields depend on the crops that are rotated by the farmers. Some examples of fields hunted in the past are: mostly alfalfa, cut and uncut corn, pumpkin and sugar beets.
Since the hunting fields change daily; a map is available each morning at the Sign-in Trailer.
The hunt will be controlled in designated areas by club patrolmen. Anyone in the field must wear a visible blaze orange hat or vest for safety reasons.

Sign-in Trailer location: The registration desk is located on 3455 McMullin Road in Manteca. Please take Highway 99 or Interstate 5 to Highway 120 Manteca, take Airport road south about 5 miles and turn right on McMullin Road. Follow the signs and you will see the sign-in trailer on the right.

Anyone in the field must wear a visible blaze orange hat or vest for safety reasons. Blaze vests will be available at the sign-in desk for $5 each. Eye protection is also strongly recommended.

Recommended shell size is #6 shot. Non-lead shot is required. (Magnum shells not needed.)
